Bishop John LeVoir Garden Blessing

On Saturday, August 16, dozens gathered in the new Bishop John LeVoir Legacy Garden to welcome the bishop and partake in the blessing of this new space. The community named the garden in Bishop LeVoir's honor to recognize his leadership and vision as canonical administrator of the school in the early years of the school's endowment fund, from 2004-2008. In 2009, upon leaving for his new assignment as bishop of the New Ulm diocese, Bishop LeVoir challenged the community to raise the St. Croix Catholic School Endowment Fund to the $1 million mark.  The community recently met this challenge and welcomed the bishop back to celebrate and to bless the new Bishop LeVoir Legacy Garden, a beautiful new area in which donors can purchase pavers as a way of supporting the school's endowment fund and engrave with wording of their choice.

Upon hearing the bishop was coming back for this blessing event, a small group of donors presented a challenge to fellow donors:  Make a special gift to the St. Croix Catholic School Endowment Fund in honor of Bishop John LeVoir while he is present and gifts will be matched up to $10,000.  The community not only met, but far surpassed, the challenge. Over $35,000 has been donated to the St. Croix Catholic School Endowment Fund in honor of Bishop John LeVoir.
