It is this time of year that our Dominican sisters learn of assignments for the coming year. After six years of serving as principal of St. Croix Catholic School, Sister Mary Juliana has been reassigned to serve as principal of a school in Alabama. She will be deeply missed, but we trust in the Lord's plan and know that she will continue to do His work down south, while we welcome the gifts that Sister Martha Ann, our new principal, brings to our community.
Many of you have asked if there are plans in the works for a send-off for Sister Mary Juliana. Yes! The staff at SCCS is hatching a fun surprise, including a community-wide contribution to the St. Croix Catholic School Endowment Fund, which Sister firmly believed in. For quite some time, it has been her wish to get the Endowment Fund to a level that the earnings would get in front of rising costs so that tuition would remain affordable for families. We cannot think of a more fitting gift that a significant community-wide gift to the Endowment Fund in Sister's honor. A Legacy Paver will be engraved in Sister's honor and permanently installed in the Bishop John LeVoir Legacy Garden. All donors' names will be included on a card, presented at the time the Paver is unveiled on the last day of school: Wednesday, May 31.
If you would like to contribute toward this community-wide gift, you may make a donation via the school's secure online giving portal. Please choose Endowment Fund-in honor of Sister Mary Juliana.
You may also make check payable to: SCCS Endowment Fund (with Sister Mary Juliana on the memo line) and send in to:
