Nearly 100 Kids "Rise to the Top!"

Thank you to all the volunteers who made possible the 2015 SCCS Basketball Camp. Nearly 100 student athletes participated in this camp that focused on building skills, learning true sportsmanship, and having fun. Stillwater Area High School head basketball coaches, Coach Jordan (boys) and Coach Taylor (girls) added their expertise and joy for the game.  SCCS 2009 graduate, Aaron Romportl, who currently plays for St. Mary’s University (Winona, MN), along with Fr. Izen delighted the kids by joining in play. Our new Athletic Director, Molly Gallagher was an all-star, spending the entire week this us, helping all the groups and showing the kids how to play some hoops!

Special thanks to Tom Houle, Dennis Brummond, Angie Doffing and their group of outstanding high school helpers: Aaron and Teme Wessel, Elizabeth Ogren, Ava Krize, Rachel Houle, Ryan Colburn, Victor Gag, Justin Siegfried, Jack Harrington, Donovan Doffing, and Ben Corbid. Our sincere appreciation extends also to Vic Hammer, Maggie Stoerzinger, Craig Lampright, and Kris Wallerich for managing the older girls and Tim Albers for leading the older boys.  Last, but certainly not least, our deepest appreciation to Kevin and Holly Corbid who have spearheaded this incredible community effort for the past several years. We are deeply grateful for all you do for extracurricular activities at SCCS.  Your gifts are immeasurable.

In addition to hundreds of smiles and high fives over this 4-day camp, the effort netted over $2,600 for the SCCS Booster Club.
Proceeds are used to buy sports uniforms and equipment, and to make improvements to all the extracurricular activities at the school.
