National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

National Junior Honor Society

Since its founding in 1929, the National Junior Honor Society has sought to “recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizenship in a democracy.” The ideals of scholarship, character, service, leadership, and citizenship constitute the pillars of this society, and its members strive to excel in all of these areas.

Membership in the St. Croix Catholic School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is bestowed upon 8th grade students who meet the high standards of NJHS in all areas of scholarship, citizenship, leadership, service and character as judged by the faculty council. A cumulative 7th grade GPA of 3.75 or higher is required for eligibility, and behavior records, candidate information forms, and faculty input are also considered by the faculty council in selection of members.
