Dear families,
We will be continuing our discussion on terrorism for a second day. For class 6y, that will be Tuesday March 31. For class 6x, it will be Wednesday, April 1. Today, we started with a general discussion of revenge and punishment, their definitions, purpose, and if they are necessary. We also spoke about (in general and basic terms) what terrorism is and what it is used for. We defined "desensitize", "gratuitous", and "solidarity". I am attaching the notes of responses the class had to these topics and other things we discussed today. They also had a chance to individually brainstorm answers for the 8 questions we will be discussing in class. For our next class, we will discuss these ideas in more depth and write a daily prayer. Please note, we will not be viewing any graphic videos or go into depth about specific terrorist groups or acts. The discussion is intended to guide an appropriate response to what they see in the media and what they hear about terrorism. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, feedback, and/or concerns! Thank you!
