11.2 ws. Test Wednesday

Today we divided fractions by whole numbers in lesson 11.11.  Tomorrow we will complete the last lesson in our topic and students should be ready to test on this topic one Wednesday after reviewing the material on Tuesday.  Please remind them that the YELLOW sheets are due tomorrow!

Today we covered lesson 11.10 which was dividing a whole number by a fraction.  We went over how we can multiply the whole number by the fractions reciprocal in order to find the quotient.  Tonight's homework: 11.10 ws

We spent today learning lesson 11.9 finding quotients that are decimals, mixed numbers or fractions.  Homework tonight is lesson 11.9 ws. Students will be tested on chapter 11 next Wednesday.

Today we put decimals in word form, expanded form, and standard form (Lesson 1-4).  We also worked off of our choice boards.

Today students were introduced to a math choice board.  We will be completeing all of this in class and nothing should be homework from the choice board.  We had 15 minutes today in class and will have more time on Thursday and Friday.  This will give Mrs. McCarty an opportunity to go around and touch base with students on content.  We also spent 10-15 minutes in the computer lab on xtra math.  

 

Homework:  Thousandths ws evens only.  

Today we worked on converting fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions (to the thousandths).  

We also worked on the computer today with a program called Xtra Math.  Your child has a pin number that should be glued into the front page of their planner.  A letter will come home in your child's Thursday folder on how to log in at home.  It is used to work on basic facts with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Today we reviewed relationships between digits in a number.  We also started place value to the thousands and students were able to convert a fraction to a decimal and a decimal to a fraction.
