Service Marathon - One Week To Go!

 First Collection Day Results

Tuesday, Sept. 20, our First Collection Day, brought in $6,186.

Thank you to all participating families for your efforts! As the classroom with the highest per student average, Mrs. McCabe’s Homeroom won First Day Traveling Trophy for Collection Day #1! Congratulations! Which classroom will win the Traveling Trophy on Friday, Sept. 20? There are two additional Collection Days next week: Tuesday, September 24 and Friday, September 27. Please note: Online donations can be made anytime between now and Sept. 27. Email your long distant relatives and friends today. Send in Cash and Check donations on Collection Days by 9:10 am. All donations must be collected and turned in by Friday, Sept. 27 at 9:10 am to count toward incentives.

Students earn one No-Uniform pass for every $50 of donations collected. The student with highest amount collected will win a $25 gift card of choice. The family with the highest amount collected will win a Family Fun basket. The faculty and staff are planning surprises for Primary, Intermediate, and Middle School Levels – if each meet their respective goals ($20,000/each). If the all-school goal of $60,000 is reached, the entire school will have a special Christmas movie afternoon on Friday, December 20! Don’t delay! We have just a little over a week to go to reach these goals!

Sophie Bauer, 1st grade, has been busy serving others in really fun and unique ways. Sophie decorated lunch bags and sent them to Meals-on-Wheels. She donated books to her neighborhood little lending library, and she baked cookies with her grandma and brought them to the neighbors! Sophie’s younger sister, Isla, one of our preschool students, enjoyed helping, too!

As an 8th grade leader, Raegan Pearson showed her appreciation for her volleyball teammates by spending her Sunday afternoon making locker signs, hair ties and treat bags for all 23 of the girls who play volleyball at SCCS. That’s 23 hair pieces, 23 treat bags and 23 carefully decorated locker/coat hook signs! What a beautiful example of giving of oneself to lift up others!

Please remember! In order to be eligible for the Disney Park Hopper ticket drawing, Service Marathon Racetracks must be filled out (all 26 spots – with at least one being a school-sponsored Community Service project) and returned to homeroom teachers by 9:10 am on Friday, Sept. 27.

Three school-sponsored Community Service projects remain; sign up on OnVolunteer
