On Saturday, April 28th, 5th grade students (Hanna Lauer, Noah D’Souza, Liam Huddleston, Charlie Runyon, and Claire McGrath) participated in the Math Masters Competition at Salem Hills Elementary School. Students competed, against 14 teams and 74 5th grade students, in eight rounds testing their facts, order of operations, word problems, and team work. Noah D’Souza placed 13th and Hanna Lauer placed 22nd out of 74 students in the Fact Drill. Hanna Lauer placed 12th, Liam Huddleston placed 18th, and Charlie Runyon placed 20th in the individual word problems. Overall, our team took 5th place out of 14 teams.
